The VL38 table lamp was designed in the late 1930s by Vilhelm Lauritzen and Louis Poulsen for the Radiohuset building in Copenhagen (which used to broadcast radio stations and which now houses the Royal Danish Academy of Music). The VL38 and the pendant lamp inspired by it, the VL45, were both designed by Vilhem Lauritzen for Radiohuset and entered Louis Poulsen's catalogs in the mid-1940s. variant introduced. In line with modern innovations in lighting technology and to reduce energy consumption, the lamp is equipped with LED lighting. The black version of the VL38 will be introduced in autumn 2017. This version has a more powerful appearance than its white brother, but does not lose the popular retro look with the soft, flowing lines and charisma of the original design.
